He’s Actually Kenneth DuBois III
Dr. DuBois is the third Kenneth DuBois in his family. While sometimes that creates confusion when patients or friends try to find him by name, he says he’s proud to be the third to bear that name.
He feels being named after his father and grandfather set the stage early in his life for self-confidence. From the moment he was born, he had a strong connection with the male role models in his family. Family traditions and family history became his own as he grew up with the sense of continuing a tradition.
Dr. DuBois Always Wanted to Be a Dentist
Dr. Kenneth DuBois never wanted to be a ninja or an astronaut. He didn’t struggle with uncertainty over what would be his best career path. His father started a New Orleans dental practice in the early 1980s when Dr. DuBois was very young, and he grew up exposed to dentistry. He knew from a very young age he wanted to be a dentist.
After he graduated from Jesuit High School, Dr. DuBois attended the University of Georgia, where he received a B.S. in Genetics. He immediately moved on to pursue his passion at the LSU School of Dentistry, then completed a General Practice Residency at University Hospital. He worked for a short time with his father, then opened his own private New Orleans dental practice.
He’s Passionate About Oral Health
Some people get stuck doing what they do because they need the paycheck. Dr. DuBois is passionate about helping people have healthy teeth and gums, along with a smile they feel good about. He doesn’t just want to fill cavities, clean teeth, provide dentures, and offer other dental services, he wants patients to understand why the procedures and treatments are necessary and how important oral health is to overall health.
